Background
rallyusedparts.co.uk is a directory of used parts, wheels, tyres and cars for sale, which is filled by advertisers posting their items for sale on the site. This website was started because of the problems and cost of selling used This makes printed adverts expensive for many spares. The worst case is that useful spares sit at the back of someone's garage, even though somebody, somewhere needs them. The advertisements on the site are both recent and older. You can see them using options which allow you to just browse through them all, see them in date order or search them in different ways. |

Site Design
This site has one main function: to be a central trading hub on the internet for used rally and race parts. So we have tried to design the site to make it as simple as possible for visitors.

Browsing or searching ?
Searching the net is tricky, because you often have to put exactly the right search word in to get decent results. If you want a variation on a word or phrase, you have to search again. We don't want to add to this problem by forcing you to search using words, so we have made it possible to view the adverts on the site as you would a printed list of adverts. However, if you want a quicker result, we have set up search facilities. We have tried to put ourselves in your shoes and design the search to give sensible results. The most important thing is that you don't have to be too exact to get results. There won't be hundreds of results if you search for 'Gearbox', so we have designed the searches to give more, rather than less adverts which might be relevant. |

Why don't we remove older adverts ?
Removing old adverts would defeat the object of the site. The beauty of the internet is that it allows easy storage of information and for this reason, older adverts can be left on the site, which then acts as a directory of parts. You can order the adverts by date to see the latest ones. The longer term presence of adverts removes the problem of buyers and sellers 'missing' each other, which is bound to happen frequently in traditional advertising and would also happen if we kept removing adverts after a few weeks. You also never know when you might need a part which was advertised a few months ago. |
